This book will tell the reader the story of an English aristocratic family. Their estate is located in a fictional village on the south coast of England. The family has lived here for many years. The events take place in the twentieth century, shortly after the end of World War II. The family is raher big. There are fifty-year-old Beatrice and four children of her late brother - they are from nine to twenty years old. The family have not too much money. But there is a profitable business. They breed horses, train and sell them. They also teach riding. The eldest son is Simon. He is twenty. In a year, he will receive a very large inheritance left by his mother. But along with the opportunity to get money, the family will also get serious problems.
