The main character of this story is a little mongoose. He is cute and fluffy. But in reality he is a great snake fighter. His name is Rikki-tikki-tavi and his war cry is: 'Rikk-tikk-tikki-tikki-tchk'. Rikki-tikki-tavi lives in a hole with his parents. One day there is a heavy rain. Rikki-tikki is washed out of his hole. A kind family saves the animal. They take him to their house. Rikki-tikki enjoys living in this big house. He likes running in its numerous rooms and exploring everything around him. The man and the woman take care of the mangoose. Their son often plays with the new pet. But one day Rikki-tikki meets his enemies. These terrible snakes are dangerous for his animal friends and the people he loves. Only Rikki-tikki can put an end to this threat.
