It was really cold outside and the rain had been pouring for several hours. But in a small room in it was light and cozy. A middle-aged Mr. White and his young son were playing chess. Mrs. White was sitting beside them and looking at two men. The woman was happy, as these two main men in her life got on well. She considered their son the best. They waited for the child for many years and the boy was born when she was almost forty years old. Herbert was still young. The family was not very rich, but they lived happily. The men did not speak, because the game was intense and everyone was trying to win. The little room was cozy, but the sound of the raindrops was heard even here. Suddenly, the old man stood up and shouted for everyone to listen to the rain.
