This is a story about one boy who could read the sky. His name was Lewin. Lewin lived in a distant and ancient country called Avondel. Many years ago, magic was everywhere in this country. Powerful creatures, who looked like gods, lived among people. They made the sun and stars shine and the rain fall. They made the world turn around its axis. But by the time Lewin was born, magic had almost disappeared. Most of the people in Avondel thought that wizards had never existed. People were poor and got food with great difficulties. An evil warlord called Gondar ruled the country. Lewin lived on a farm far from big cities. The boy heard many horrible stories about Gondar and his cruel soldiers. He had never met them before. But one day everything changed.
